Workshops by Linda Marcou

Color My World

Who doesn't love to color? In this all-day workshop, you'll learn all the steps--from transferring designs onto fabric, to shading colors and then putting them into your quilt. The possibilities are endless! I'll show you how to make your work permanent. If you can appliqué it, you can color it faster and easier!
Materials: $6.00

Eight Eights

You can go way back to the 1880’s by creating my rendition of this antique quilt.  A sizable variety of fabrics is a must.  Choose a color scheme or scatter it, this makes a stunning quilt.  A slick technique to combine the dark and light sides of the block makes construction double-quick, without triangles.

Rail Fence Riot

A spectacular look with blockbusting brights.  It can all come from your stash or you can purchase specifically for this quilt but a variety is essential.  This quilt made its debut in the discontinued book, Tried and True by Sandy Bonsib.  Taught with permission.

Sapphire and Sunshine

The combination of piecing and applique is a winner.  This is the quilt to use the Shape Cut Ruler by June Tailor for cutting. It will be so accurate and uniform that you’ll breeze through to quick sewing and see stars in your eyes in no time.

Cutting Corners

Here’s another Courthouse Steps variation but with a twist.  Adding lattice to the basic block gives a secondary design to excite you.  It’s always fun to make a great block better and that’s what you’ll do with clever construction.  Your stash can be your palette.

Trip X Two

Be ready to be-dazzle everyone.  You’ll produce two Trip Around the World blocks that are total opposites of each other by cutting apart and re-sewing simple strip sets.   This quilt gives you ample space to play with your fabrics.  Words alone can’t describe what the eye enjoys.

Sunday Satchel

Create a terrific bag from a simple “quilt”. This bag is meant to be used.  Always a favorite

Chenille's for Me

Do you love the look of chenille but don’t know where to begin?  That’s where we’ll start in this demo and go through the fast, easy steps of a terrific technique.

Treasured Tree Skirt

A fast tree skirt using a nifty ruler adds up to a great design to take its place under your tree (or on your table).  Easy strip sets and basic straight sewing get you through to find a dramatic design.

Hopscotch Neutral

Hopscotch Neutral by Alex Anderson

It's hard to believe that backgrounds alone can look so good. Alex Anderson pushed the neutral palette a little further than usual. The resulting quilt is a more contemporary looking piece. In an all-day workshop, you'll get a solid start on the three different block designs used in all of the sizes from wall hanging to queen-sized quilt. It's really an addictive concept.

In A Bind Over Your Binding?

In A Bind Over Your Binding?

We'll start with the basic binding and elaborate so you'll be able to begin and end like a pro! This is a notebook class that gives you samples to refer to when you're "in a bind." Learn smooth, flat seams, explore difficult corners and discover embellished bindings. Join us in a fun, all-day, hands-on workshop and you'll come away with more options for edges that give added interest to the finished quilt.

Walking On Water quilt

Walking On Water

Enjoy an all-day workshop with Linda, sewing this quilt that looks like we've been out puddle jumping. It's all created with a very easy block, featuring basic half-square triangles and high contrast fabrics. "Break-out" blocks in the borders soften the line to give it an artistic flair.
